What we hope to accomplish

For the future of Green Team, we plan to accomplish many things:

• Become a Level ll Green School by reducing our school's energy usage and become a Level III Green School by conserving water at our school and preventing water pollution
• Successfully integrate a composting system into our cafeterias and partner with local organizations to reduce food waste
• Increase biodiversity in the Kimball Creek Slough by reintroducing native plants and removing invasive species
• Working with the YMCA Youth Environmental Service Corps, the Snoqualmie Tribe, Oxbow Farms, and other organizations to make change, educate our team, and teach students how to be environmental leaders
• Educate the student body on individual actions all people can take to live more sustainably, such as properly recycling and composting, taking public transportation, eating plant-based proteins as opposed to foods like beef, and taking airplanes less often
• Participate in activism by writing letters, signing petitions, and holding protests in favor of legislation that protects our environment and keeps corporations responsible
• Increase awareness of important environmental issues, getting more people involved and invested in protecting our planet
